Kenny Chesney To Launch Online Radio Station
July 27, 2009 at 1:23 PM (PT)
BNA star KENNY CHESNEY will launch www.NoShoesRadio.com on THURSDAY, AUGUST 6th at noon (ET). The new online radio station is based on KENNY's favorite songs from his iPOD, reflecting an "eclectic take on classic and modern music."
CHESNEY said: “People ask me what I do and, obviously, cause of the way I sing and where I come from, I'm a country singer, but really, what I do draws on so much more than that. Growing up, I don't think anybody listened to any one kind of thing - and what I think of as country, well, that's not really what we do… But then again, II think most of our fans are listening to other stuff, too, whether it's DAVE (MATTHEWS), (BRUCE) SPRINGTSTEEN, (TOM) PETTY or JACKSON BROWNE, not to mention BOB MARLEY, who I think may be the great equalizer among all kinds of music.”
The station will broadcast live from a parking lot in ORANGE BEACH when it launches, featuring interviews with CHESNEY and tourmates MIRANDA LAMBERT and LADY ANTEBELLUM.
KENNY's new single, "I'm Alive," featuring DAVE MATTHEWS, has just been released to Country radio and impacts airwaves on AUGUST 17th. For more info on CHESNEY and NoShoesRadio.com, visit www.kennychesney.com.
