VIN SCULLY never said he was retiring after this season, but some in the media assumed that would be the case. However, SCULLY has told the LOS ANGELES TIMES' BILL PLASCHKE that, "God willing," he will work at least one more season as the voice of the LOS ANGELES DODGERS.
"God willing, I will probably come back for one more year," SCULLY, 81, told PLASCHKE. "At this moment, my health is excellent, and I'm leaning toward one more year." Asked if he would then retire, SCULLY said, "Yes, that makes sense." SCULLY has been the voice of the DODGERS since their BROOKLYN days; he presently calls all home games and games west of the ROCKIES on a network headed by CITADEL Talk KABC-A/LOS ANGELES, CBS-owned independent KCAL-TV/LOS ANGELES, and FOX SPORTS NET PRIME TICKET.
