A shuffle in leased programming deals in JACKSONVILLE means that SEVEN BRIDGES RADIO Sports WJXL-A (1010XL) is no longer leasing the time to simulcast much of the station's lineup on WJSJ. With the move, ANDY JOHNSON's liberal Talk RADIO FREE JACKSONVILLE is now leasing the time on WJSJ (formerly owned by TAMA BROADCASTING, presently operated by receiver SCOTT SAVAGE),also formerly simulcast on WSJF/ST. AUGUSTINE BEACH and WHJX/BALDWIN. WFJO/FOLKSTON, formerly airing the RADIO FREE JACKSONVILLE programming and covering the northern area of the metro and southeastern GEORGIA, will air 1010XL's programming as well, with an upgrade to serve more of the market in the works.
In a statement on its website, 1010 XL owner SEVEN BRIDGES RADIO said that it is committed to quality Sports programming on the FM band. We are in the process of purchasing an FM station with a stronger, more powerful signal that will allow us to reach more sports fans on the FIRST COAST. Stay tuned to 1010 XL and here on 1010XL.com for more information."
