GA Radio Hall Of Fame Inducts Eight

The GEORGIA RADIO HALL OF FAME will induct eight GEORGIA radio legends on OCTOBER 17th, 2009 at their third annual Induction Dinner and Awards Program. This year’s honorees are (in alphabetical order):

MARCUS BARTLETT - WSB/ATLANTA, BOB CARR - 94Q/ATLANTA, AL CIRALDO - WCNN/ATLANTA, DON ELLIOTT HEALD - WSB/ATLANTA, BILL HOGER - WFOX/GAINESVILLE-ATLANTA, H. RANDOLPH HOLDER - WGAU/ATHENS, MIKE KAVANAGH - WSB/ATLANTA and CHUCK MCCLURE - WRCG/WCGQ/COLUMBUS.

The 2009 Elmo Ellis Spirit Award recipient is J.B. FUQUA - WGAC/AUGUSTA.

The 2009 Founders and Directors Award will be awarded posthumously to MICHAEL GUIDO of METTER, GEORGIA.

Eight Career Achievement Inductees will be announced at the OCTOBER Event. The membership voted their choice from a list that included:

DON BENSON - LINCOLN FINANCIAL MEDIA/ATLANTA, LARRY JAMES - WDAK/COLUMBUS, LESLIE FRAM - 99X/ATLANTA, STEVE MCCOY & VIKKI LOCKE - B98.5/ATLANTA, RICK SHAW - ATLANTA FALCONS RADIO NETWORK, BEN LUCAS - WROM/ROME, DON EDWARDS - WGBA/COLUMBUS, MARVIN MASSEY - WGIG/BRUNSWICK, DON KING - WBML/MACON, HAROLD SHEDD - WWCC/BREMEN, MIKE MCDOUGALD - WRGA/ROME, BURL WOMACK - WSAV/SAVANNAH, GREG DAVIS - DAVIS BROADCASTING/COLUMBUS, JIM WESLEY - WSB/ATLANTA and SONYA HAMM - PRAISE 97.5/ATLANTA.

The event will be held at the ATLANTA/MARIETTA HILTON CONFERENCE CENTER & RESORT. As part of the evenings festivities alumni from ATLANTA’s 94 Q will hold a staff reunion.
