'Gunny Bob' Exits KOA/Denver

CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KOA-A/DENVER evening host "GUNNY BOB" NEWMAN is exiting the station to take what the station describes as "a leadership role with a counterterrorism and security organization in a region with an extreme terrorist infestation and growing crime problem."
In a press release, NEWMAN said, "My audience has become part of my family, so to speak, and it is painful to leave them but most understand that my first priority, after providing for my family at home, is to do whatever I can to defeat and kill terrorists. My new employer made a strong case for me joining them and made me an offer I could not refuse. It is also rewarding to know that I am leaving 850 KOA at the top of my game with the #1 evening talk show in Denver, by far. I owe my audience, LEE LARSEN, KRIS OLINGER, DOMINIC BOND and MATT LARSEN for that honor."
And on the KOA website, NEWMAN, in an open letter to listeners, said, "About a month ago, an organization (don't make any assumptions) approached me and asked that I relocate to their location and be their counterterrorism and security advisor. This organization has people and assets in a country that is infested with terrorists in a huge region of the planet that is infested with terrorists. They need me to keep their people alive and their assets intact, and that is what I intend to do. If things collapse in this country and region, we here in America will absolutely, beyond any doubt, be targeted far more often. I can't allow that to happen, so I resigned from CLEAR CHANNEL (my bosses were a bit surprised and none too pleased), accepted the new position and do the seabag drag to my new gig this SATURDAY.
"Gang, if what I will do in my new position will help keep Americans alive back home and abroad, how can I say no when it is my duty to say yes?
"So, adios gang. I will think of you often, as I hope you do me.
