Limbaugh Weight Loss Creates Interest, Controversy

RUSH LIMBAUGH manages to create controversy with everything he does, and his recent 90-pound weight loss is no exception. The PREMIERE RADIO NETWORKS personality has been crediting a diet program from QUICK WEIGHT LOSS CENTERS, a FLORIDA company which is not a paid advertiser on his show, for his fast shedding of the weight, but ABC's "GOOD MORNING AMERICA" followed up with a piece interviewing a doctor who warned that programs involving rapid weight loss may be dangerous.
In the GMA piece, the show's own medical contributor Dr, MARIE SAVARD said, "To lose that much weight -- he talked about losing as much as a pound a day, which is not safe -- you need to severely cut your calories. [That] starvation mode has potentially dangerous health effects including losing fat and lean muscle mass."
QUICK WEIGHT LOSS CENTERS credits LIMBAUGH with elevating the company to the fastest-rising search term on GOOGLE.
