Posting, a practice not embraced by the radio industry, may finally be taking hold, reports MEDIAWEEK. A year after RADIO ONE began a scheduling and verification system in HOUSTON, the company will now roll out posting to the rest of its 52 stations in 16 markets.
The move is a reaction to ARBITRON as it continues to roll out the PPM service to more and more markets. Stations can now provide advertisers and agencies with quicker ratings feedback regarding schedule delivery on par with TV.
RADIO ONE's initiative will fall in line with their naming system, and be dubbed ACCOUNTABILITY ONE. The software will be provided by PICKLE PROGRAMS. The system will allow RADIO ONE to generate reports for advertisers detailing delivery of advertising schedules.
"With this revolutionary software, we can provide accountability via proof of performance within two to three weeks," said RADIO ONE Pres./Radio BARRY MAYO. "Leading the way in this important industry innovation will result in increased shares for radio."
