Job Cuts Hit Radio, TV Marti

RADIO MARTI and TV MARTI, the U.S. government stations aimed at CUBA, will cut 35 jobs (21.8% of the workforce) in anticipation of federal budget cuts at the OFFICE OF CUBA BROADCAST, reports the MIAMI HERALD.
The cuts include 22 layoffs as well as voluntary buyouts and positions left vacant. OCB spokeswoman LETITIA KING said that the cuts are estimated at $4,2 million for the upcoming fiscal year.
RADIO MARTI is planning to move to an all-News format in SEPTEMBER.
