Nielsen Touts Radio Ratings Sampling Success

THE NIELSEN COMPANY announced further details about its upcoming radio ratings release with the word that "the vast majority of markets where NIELSEN plans to release radio ratings later this month are in line with government estimates of individuals living in cell phone-only (CPO) households."
The company said that acceptance rates for key demographics were "significantly higher than targeted levels," citing 18-34 returns 61% over the company's target.
"Effective radio measurement starts with a reliable sample, and NIELSEN hit these samples right out of the ballpark," said NIELSEN VP/Methodological Research Dr. MICHAEL LINK. "When our ratings are released later this month, they will be based on the most representative sample that the radio industry has ever seen."
