AFTRA Re-elects Reardon, Hikes Initiation Fee

Representatives to the AFTRA national convention in CHICAGO this weekend unanimously re-elected ROBERTA REARDON to a second term as President of the union SATURDAY. REARDON, along with Executive Dir. KIM ROBERTS HEDGEPETH and CHICAGO union executive EILEEN WILLENBORG, was awarded the GEORGE HELLER Memorial Gold Card.
SIRIUS XM RADIO host BOB EDWARDS was re-elected as National First VP, along with actor RON MORGAN as Second National VP, actor MATT KIMBROUGH as Treasurer, and actor LAINIE COOKE as National Recording Secretary. DENNY DELK, HOLTER GRAHAM, BOB BUTLER, CATHERINE BROWN, JIM FERGUSON and SHELBY SCOTT were re-elected as National VPs, with CRAIG DELLIMORE newly elected to the post.
The union also voted to approve an increase in the initiation fee from $1,300 to $1,600, with the additional funds earmarked for organizing activity, and passed resolutions urging the federal government to strengthen protections against intellectual property theft on the Net, authorizing a panel to look at cooperation with ACTORS EQUITY, backing the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, and giving President OBAMA an honorary membership.
