More shakeups are coming to Top 40 BBC RADIO 1, with station veteran STEVE LAMACQ exiting after 16 years with the station. LAMACQ, who hosts a MONDAY night show, will continue hosting duties on sister AC RADIO 2 and AAA 6MUSIC. The 9p weeknight slot will be occupied by documentaries on MONDAY, NIHAL on TUESDAY, HUE STEPHENS on WEDNESDAY, "IN NEW DJS WE TRUST" on THURSDAY, and PETE TONG on FRIDAY (moving from 7p and bumping ANNIE MAC's "ANNIE'S MASH-UP" to 7p). The changes take effect SEPTEMBER 21st.
In addition, RADIO 1 SATURDAY night host TIM WESTWOOD will take over the afternoon drive show on Urban digital station 1XTRA, starting SEPTEMBER 28th. He will continue to host 9-11p SATURDAY nights on RADIO 1, but his co-host CHRIS GOLDFINGER will exit and move to 1XTRA. MISTAJAM moves into the 11p-1a SATURDAY night slot to replace NIHAL and BOBBY FRICTION.
