After nine years with ENTERCOM and 45 years in radio,ENTERCOM/INDIANAPOLIS VP/Market Manager PHIL HOOVER has announced his retirement. HOOVER had previously been VP/Market Manager for ENTERCOM clusters in WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON and NEW ORLEANS.
"PHIL has done an extraordinary job for ENTERCOM in several markets and while most recently responsible for leading our INDIANAPOLIS cluster, we will always remember PHIL's leadership of ENTERCOM/NEW ORLEANS during HURRICANE KATRINA," ENTERCOM Pres./CEO DAVID FIELD noted. "Under PHIL's leadership our ENTERCOM team in NEW ORLEANS provided award-winning and life-saving coverage of the storm and its devastating aftermath on the CRESCENT CITY."
"Radio is people ... people who listen, who advertise and who creatively bring us the magic that is radio today," HOOVER noted. "It is the people who have made these years glorious and rewarding. On the eve of the 4th Anniversary following HURRICANE KATRINA, I again acknowledge ENTERCOM for its commitment to the people of NEW ORLEANS. I am most honored and proud to have been known as a "broadcaster."
