The FCC has approved the sale of WFJO/FOLKSTON, GA, WHJX/BALDWIN, FL, and WSJF/ST. AUGUSTINE BEACH, FL by receiver SCOTT SAVAGE to JOSE A. POMALES' FAMILY BROADCASTING for $3.6 million total, and SAVAGE's sale of Classic Rock WTHG (104.7 THE HAWK)/HINESVILLE-SAVANNAH to DICK POPE's WRGO-FM RADIO LLC D/B/A SAVANNAH RADIO for $700,000.
The sales were challenged by Dr. GLENN CHERRY, former CEO of TAMA BROADCASTING, which owned the stations before they went into receivership, but the Commission rejected the one sentence objections accompanied by complaints against the Commission process and admonished CHERRY for filing frivolous pleadings.
