Radio, TV Interviews Land 'Survivor' Hatch In Hot Water Again

"SURVIVOR" winner and former radio personality RICHARD HATCH landed himself back in jail after giving unauthorized interviews to CITADEL Talk WPRO-A-WEAN/PROVIDEMCE host JOHN DEPETRO, NBC affiliate WJAR-TV/PROVIDENCE, and NBC's "TODAY" this week. Permission from the Federal Bureau of Prisons is required for an individual under home confinement to grant interviews; MATT LAUER told AP that he and HATCH had requested and received permission for the "TODAY" interview, but DEPETRO said that WPRO had not requested permission because HATCH called in to his show on his own.
HATCH, who briefly appeared on the morning show on WQSX (now WMKK)/BOSTON after his "SURVIVOR" victory, is serving time for tax evasion and perjury; he has been complaining in court filings and in the "TODAY" interview that he is being treated unfairly because he is gay.
