Beck: No Suspension, Just Vacation

Was it a vacation or a suspension? GLENN BECK is off this week from his PREMIERE radio and FOX NEWS CHANNEL TV shows, and trade website TVNEWSER printed speculation that BECK's absence was a suspension related to his criticisms of President OBAMA as "racist" that led to some advertisers pulling their ads off his TV show. But POLITICO is reporting that the absence was a pre-planned vacation, with a JULY 14th internal e-mail from CHRISTOPHER BALFE of BECK's MERCURY RADIO ARTS production company indicating that the time off this week was pre-planned (and that BECK took the week off from radio as well).
Presented with the evidence, TVNEWSER stuck to its story anyway, claiming that its "tipsters" heard BECK say he was "forced to take the week off," prompting BECK publicist MATTHEW HILTZIK to respond, "It's sad and disappointing that despite denials from all parties involved -- FOX and GLENN -- and with objective proof that plans were made months ago, that someone continues to peddle this completely bogus story."
