Coursolle Buys Control Of 10 WI, MI Stations

JIM COURSOLLE's NORTHSTAR PROPERTIES LLC has bought controlling interest in 10 stations owned by HEARTLAND COMMUNICATIONS in WISCONSIN and MICHIGAN from GRANITE EQUITY PARTNERS, reports the GREEN BAY PRESS GAZETTE. The stations in which COURSOLLE is taking a controlling share are Country WCQM and Sports WNBI-A (SPORTS/TALK 980)/PARK FALLS, WI; Adult Standards WATW-A, Country WBSZ (HOT COUNTRY Z93), Classic Rock WJJH and Oldies WNXR-F/ASHLAND, WI; Oldies WRJO and Adult Standards WERL-A/EAGLE RIVER, WI; and Adult Standards WIKB-A and AC WIKB-F (THE BREEZE)/IRON RIVER, MI. GRANITE will retain a minority interest in the stations and will retain 100% of three stations in HOUGHTON, MI, Country WHKB (K-BEAR), Classic Hits WOLV (THE WOLF), and Adult Standards WCCY-A. The $3.25 million deal has not yet been filed with the FCC.
In deals that were filed with the Commission, BETTER LIFE MINISTRIES is selling six construction permits to TIMOTHY and VIRGINIA CUTFORTH's HOME TOWN RADIO for $1. The CPs include KHUA/PRESIDIO, TX; KOAH/COMSTOCK, TX; KHTW/LANGTRY, TX; KEHT/EADS, CO; KYHR/RICHFIELD, UT; and a new FM in WRAY, CO.
ROY HENDERSON's NEW ULM BROADCASTING CO. is selling daytimer KNUZ-A/BELLVILLE, TX-HOUSTON to JANICE HOLLAN's JHT VENTURES, INC. for $500,000. The station has been operating at a temporary site with reduced power under Special Temporary Authority and holds a construction permit to change its community of license to KATY.
And NORTHWEST INDY RADIO is selling K221FJ/MANZANITA, WA to DAVID and PENNY DRUCKER's SEATTLE STREAMING RADIO, LLC for $68,000. The buyer plans to file for an STA to allow it to use the translator to simulcast Spanish Sports KNTB-A/LAKEWOOD, WA.
