Alabama Station Owner Files For Chapter 11

BLUEWATER BROADCASTING COMPANY, L.L.C. and parent ALTA-BLUEWATER HOLDINGS, INC. have filed with the FCC for debtor-in-possession status. BLUEWATER owns Talk WACV-A, Country WBAM-F (BAMA COUNTRY 98.9), Urban WJWZ (97.9 JAMZ), and Oldies WQKS-F (Q96.1)/MONTGOMERY, AL. BLUEWATER and ALTA-BLUEWATER filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last week.
In other transactions filed with the FCC, the previously-announced sale of Classic Hits WAZL-A/HAZLETON, PA by WS2K MEDIA to locally-owned PANORAMA MAGAZINE (PANORAMA PA, INC.) is priced at $105,000, according to the contract attached to the sale form. The price had previously been undisclosed.
FM PREGNANCY CENTERS, INC. is selling the construction permit for a new noncommercial FM to DOMESTIC CHURCH MEDIA FOUNDATION for $5,000. The buyer programs Religion WFJS-A (formerly WBUD-A)/TRENTON under a time brokerage agreement. The seller's principal, SANTO A. ARENA, will join the buyer's board as a director.
In FM translator deals, HORIZON CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP is selling K296FY/EL DORADO, AR to NOALMARK BROADCASTING CORPORATION for $17,000; and WOODS COVE, LTD. is selling K242BV/ST. GEORGE, UT and K268BT/SHIVWITS, UT to PATRICIA J. YOUNG for $2,000.
