The SECRET SERVICE has dropped its investigation of HERNANDO BROADCASTING CO. Talk WWJB-A/BROOKSVILLE, FL host BOB HAA, reports the ST. PETERSBURG TIMES. HAA was probed after a listener complained that he heard HAA on JULY 31st tell a caller who was target practicing to "save your ammunition, don't be wasting it on a target, use it on the Administration."
HAA said that the conversation did not happen that way, and told the TIMES, "I'm glad it's over ... I just wish the problems in our country were over. Nothing has changed in the way we do the show and I really don't know why it would."
SECRET SERVICE Agent JOHN JOYCE, faced with the lack of a tape of the incident, told the TIMES, "I feel confident that Mr. HAA is aware of the seriousness of making threats against the President of the UNITED STATES. I don't anticipate any more issues along those lines."
