The pending closing of IRELAND's INDEPENDENT NETWORK NEWS has several other parties mulling the launch of a national radio news service to fill the void. INN, owned by a consortium of private broadcasting groups, is slated to be shut down at the end of the month due to mounting losses this year.
The SUNDAY BUSINESS POST reports that UTV, COMMUNICORP, THOMAS CROSBIE HOLDINGS, and a group of former INN journalists are among those who are considering offering a new news service for Irish stations.
