Greater Media/Philly Wants Phillies Back In '11

The PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER's MICHAEL KLEIN reports that GREATER MEDIA will take a run at reacquiring the rights to PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES baseball after the 2010 season. The PHILLIES have extended their deal with current flagship CBS RADIO Talk WPHT-A, but KLEIN says that the term, which the team and station did not disclose, is for only one additional year.
GREATER MEDIA Market Manager JOHN FULLAM told KLEIN he wants to "sit at the table" to bid on PHILLIES games next year, as well as the other major teams (EAGLES, SIXERS, and FLYERS), all of which air on CBS stations and whose rights are not up for bid soon, for his Sports WNUW-WPEN-A (97.5 THE FANATIC).
The PHILLIES aired on WPEN in 2002-2004, but fan complaints about the signal contributed to the team's return to longtime home WPHT in 2005.
