UNIVISION COMMUNICATIONS has honored retired Pres./COO RAY RODRIGUEZ by naming its network operations building in MIAMI after him. At a ceremony THURSDAY (11/19), Pres./CEO JOE UVA and UNIVISION NETWORKS Pres. CESAR CONDE presented RODRIGUEZ with a commemorative plaque naming the building the "The RAY RODRIGUEZ Broadcasting Center." Proclamations to that effect were issued by MIAMI-DADE COUNTY Mayor CARLOS ALVAREZ and City of DORAL Vice Mayor ROBERT VAN NAME, and singer GLORIA ESTEFAN was also in attendance.
"The dedication of the building is a fitting way to not only acknowledge but celebrate RAY RODRIGUEZ's nearly 20 years with UNIVISION and the lasting mark he has left on the media industry and in the Miami business community," said UVA.
"I am immensely honored and would like to thank JOE, CESAR and the entire UNIVISION family for this dedication," said RODRIGUEZ, who retired in AUGUST. "UNIVISION is a place I have called home for the past 20 years and one full of lasting memories. Thank you all for being part of this amazing and unforgettable journey."
