A group opposed to GLENN BECK's politics is claiming that it persuaded the HARLEM GOSPEL CHOIR to pull out of the PREMIERE RADIO NETWORKS host's national live theater presentation of his "THE CHRISTMAS SWEATER -- A RETURN TO REDEMPTION," but the choir says that it is apolitical and the move was due to economics.
The NEW YORK DAILY NEWS reports that COLOR FOR CHANGE's Executive Director JAMES RUCKER is claiming that he sent the choir clips from BECK's shows because, "We wanted to make sure they understood who BECK was. We believe their mission is about spreading the Gospel and and promoting harmony, and we thought BECK was the antithesis of that."
But the choir's manager ANNA BAILEY told the DAILY NEWS that the pullout was a financial decision, saying, "I had to gracefully back out. There wasn't enough money to pay our agent's commission.... We don't take a political stance. This is AMERICA. GLENN BECK can believe and say what he believes. He has a good forum for him to do that and God bless that. It was just a slight confusion when the booking was made."
