The WALL STREET JOURNAL's SARAH MCBRIDE joins the speculation about HOWARD STERN's next move, picking up on the SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO host's comments in NOVEMBER that "I don't think I'm going to be re-signing" with SIRIUS to analyze whether SIRIUS needs STERN at this stage.
STERN said that he is interested in a reduced schedule that SIRIUS might not want, although CEO MEL KARMAZIN has said that he wants to keep STERN "on terms that are in the best interest of our shareholders." MCBRIDE cites analysts who believe that the company will be willing to let STERN go, sacrificing subscribers but not profitability.
