CUMULUS AC KMAJ/TOPEKA helped CHRISTMAS arrive early this week at THE UNITED WAY OF GREATER TOPEKA. UNITED WAY officials reported WEDNESDAY that all families seeking help through the annual CHRISTMAS Bureau will receive it. Some 2,900 area households or individuals -- a total of around 10,000 people, the highest number ever -- sought assistance this year through the CHRISTMAS Bureau program.
"This community is so generous and thoughtful of its neighbors," said UNITED WAY OF GREATER TOPEKA Pres,/CEO MIRIAM KREHBIEL. "We put out a call for help, and they responded in such a big way. The holiday spirit truly is alive and well in our community."
