APPLE may not have acquired ADMOB, which instead went to rival GOOGLE, but the NEW YORK POST reports it's still focused on the mobile ad business. On the same day GOOGLE unveiled its new smartphone, APPLE, partent company of iTUNES, confirmed it was buying QUATTRO WIRELESS, a mobile marketing company and ADMOB rival, for an estimated $275 million.
Both ADMOB and QUATTRO WIRELESS "deliver ads to smartphones such as the iPHONE and GOOGLE's new NEXUS ONE. Beyond banner ads, mobile ads can also appear in applications, including those available through APPLE's App Store."
