Former ABC RADIO NETWORKS SVP/Programming JOHN MCCONNELL has joined the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the CHRISTOPHER AND DANA REEVE FOUNDATION. MCCONNELL, who heads his own MCCONNELL MEDIA LLC consultancy, now chairs the foundation's Development Committee, overseeing fundraising efforts. BBDO NEW YORK Pres./CEO JOHN OSBORN was also appointed to the committee as Chair of the Communications Committee.
"The REEVE FOUNDATION has already greatly benefited from both JOHN OSBORN and JOHN MCCONNELL's vision, passion and generosity," said the foundation's Pres./CEO PETER T. WILDEROTTER. "We are extremely appreciative of their commitment and devotion to furthering the cause of the REEVE FOUNDATION and improving the lives of the 1.275 million Americans living with spinal cord injury."
On MCCONNELL, who broke his neck riding his bike and subsequently completed the NEW YORK Marathon, and who has raised over $800,000 for the foundation by running marathons, WILDEROTTER said, "JOHN has a deep commitment and love for our work. He will lead the FOUNDATION's fundraising efforts with talent and grace and be an invaluable asset in pursuing our mission. We look forward to new opportunities and great progress under his tenure."
"Because of my experience, I have seen first-hand how critically important the work of the REEVE FOUNDATION is," added MCCONNELL. "I'm lucky to be here and incredibly fortunate to be a part of this life -- changing cause."
