Cox Merges Radio, TV, Newspaper Management In Dayton

COX MEDIA GROUP has merged its radio, television, newspaper, and commercial printing and mail operations in DAYTON, OH into a single entity with a new management structure. The intergrated organization includes Talk WHIO-A-F, Country WHKO (K99.1), and Classic Hits WZLR (THE NEW 95.3 THE EAGLE)/DAYTON, CBS affiliate WHIO-TV, COX OHIO PUBLISHING (the DAYTON DAILY NEWS, SPRINGFIELD NEWS SUN, JOURNAL NEWS, MIDDLETOWN JOURNAL), a cluster of weekly papers, and the printing and mail business.
Each station and business will operate as an independent voice but with merged management. The plans came after the announcement on DECEMBER 15th that the radio and television stations will be moving into the newspaper's building.
WHIO-TV GM HARRY DELANEY will serve as SVP/News and Content, with BRIAN COOPER as SVP/Operations; ROB ROHR as SVP/Sales; ex-WHIO-TV GSM JAMES COSBY as VP/Broadcast Sales (reporting to ROHR and overseeing TV/radio sales); DONNA HALL as SVP/Marketing and Client Solutions; and RAY MARCANO as Dir./Digital Strategy. All SVPs and MARCANO will report to Group VP ALEX TAYLOR.
