Next FCC Ownership Workshop Looks At Diversity

The FCC's Media Bureau has set its next media ownership workshop for WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 27th.
The workshop will focus on how the FCC’s media ownership rules affect minority and female ownership, with specific concentration on how rule changes will impact such ownership, marketplace or other factors affecting diversity, constitutionality of proposed rules, and the impact of subsequent court decisions of the "ADARAND standard," the case imposing a "strict scrutiny" standard on government use of racial classifications.
Two panels will comprise the workshop, one with academics and the other with broadcasters and media advocacy group representatives.
