Gators Radio Coordinator Steve Babik Faces Child Porn Charge

UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA football radio Network Coordinator STEVE BABIK has been fired after he was charged with receipt, distribution and possession of child pornography. BABIK appeared in federal court TUESDAY in GAINESVILLE and faces 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine on the distribution charge and 10 years and $250,000 on the possession charge.
The school issued a statement reading, "We were made aware of the investigation in late NOVEMBER and immediately suspended STEVE BABIK from his work responsibilities. Now that he has been charged, his employment has been terminated. We are deeply disturbed by the charges."
The PENN STATE graduate had been with the GATOR program or 20 years and hosted the "TAILGATOR" pre-game show on the network.
