The Party's Over In New York

ISLAND BROADCASTING CO. has pulled the plug on its PARTY FM simulcast on TV station WNYZ-LP/NEW YORK. A statement from JOHN CARACCIOLO, CEO/President of JVC MEDIA, PARTY FM released TODAY said:
Effective immediately, we will no longer simulcast our PARTY FM programming on WNYZ 87.7 LP-TV. There were a few factors that went into our decision to terminate our agreement with WNYZ. The FCC contemplating the fate of Low Power TV 6 as a radio signal was one. It's soon expected conversion to digital was another.
"It's hard to invest in a radio station when you don't know if the government will shut it down tomorrow", said CARACCIOLO. "Spending time, man-power and dollars to grow a property with a very limited lifespan does not fit our business model."
PARTY 105.3 will continue in SUFFOLK COUNTY, we will rebroadcast the PARTY format on 101.5 in NASSAU COUNTY and will continue to broadcast LAFIESTA on 98.5, and 96.9 on LONG ISLAND and 1490 AM in ATLANTIC CITY.
PARTY 105 and LAFIESTA are two very healthy radio stations. We achieved enormous financial growth in 2009 and will continue to grow in 2010 and beyond. There are many opportunities in broadcasting right now, especially here on LONG ISLAND. We will continue to expand, but we will do so in a financial prudent way that guarantees LONGTERM success for JVC MEDIA, which means longterm success for our employees and advertising partners.
