WPST's Haitian Relief Radiothon

NASSAU Hot AC WPST/TRENTON-PHILADELPHIA is hosting a day-long radiothon to benefit the victims of the HAiTIAN earthquake. The station is asking each listener to give just one dollar. With WPST's combined cume in the PHILADELPHIA metro, as well as several NEW JERSEY markets, that would add up to almost $1 million.
Adding to the urgency is the fact that local resident CHRISTINE GIANCACI of HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ -- who spent two years as a WPST intern -- is still reported to be missing in HAITI.
The morning show welcomed members of a group of volunteers from CENTRAL NEW JERSEY churches who were in HAITI doing volunteer work when the earthquake struck. The group shared their stories with listeners this morning (1/21).
Other NASSAU stations are also engaging in similar fundraising efforts today.
