Chesney To Release New Single In February; Album Set For Fall Release

BNA/NASHVILLE's KENNY CHESNEY may have the year off from touring, but he is still busy as ever. In addition to finishing up his 3-D concert movie, slated for an APRIL 21st release, he's also recording songs for his upcoming album. The new CD will hit stores sometime in the fall.
The lead single from the upcoming release will be called "Ain't Back Yet," impacting Country radio on FEBRUARY 8th.
CHESNEY said: “That song is pretty much everything about what happened to me, especially with the music. You get so focused on what you're trying to accomplish, it takes over, and there's nothing that's going to come between you and your dream. For some people, it's sports; for me, it was the music. You know, there's a price you pay to do this, but look at what this is."
In other CHESNEY news, he was named second on THE LOS ANGELES TIMES "Artist Of Decade" list behind CELINE DION. The list took into account ticket, single and album sales from the past decade.
CHESNEY said: “It's funny. I don't think in terms of promoting or working… I think about the music I want to make, the kind of shows I want to do - and how to give those fans the things that I wanted from the artists I loved when I was growing up...But beyond that, it's kind of weird. I mean, the BEATLES? U2? The STONES? That's sort of crazy… but then, anyone who's ever been to one of our stadium shows knows just how loud they sing along, how much they cheer - and the way they start the party. My attitude has always
been: anybody who wants to come and be a part of this, come on. Evidently, they did.”
SHOW DOG-UNIVERSAL MUSIC artist TOBY KEITH checks in at number six on the list and CURB star TIM McGRAW gets the number nine spot.
