3 DAUGHTERS MEDIA Classic Top 40 WUUQ/CHATTANOOGA will flip formats to Classic Country. "This returns Classic Country to the 97.3/99.3 frequencies," CEO GARY BURNS said. "When we purchased this radio station from CLEAR CHANNEL in June 2008, they moved the format to another frequency in their cluster. The format produced a 6.0 share for the 97.3/99.3, frequencies; it also produced a 6.0 share for 98.1. When CLEAR CHANNEL flipped 98.1 to AC after Christmas, Classic Country became an orphan.
"This was an easy decision," he continued. "We cover TENNESSEE, NORTH ALABAMA and NORTH GEORGIA. Classic Country is home on WUUQ. This format will not come from a network; it will originate in CHATTANOOGA. SUSIE LUTHER will handle mornings, SCOTT MILLER middays and DALE MITCHELL afternoon drive. Voice imaging will come from Country artist and CHATTANOOGA resident ROGER ALLEN WADE. We will have limited commercials; we will never run more than three units or 90 seconds in a commercial stopset."
DALE MITCHELL will will also handle PD duties, along with the afternoon drive.
