Arbitron, Eton Provide Haiti With Free Solar, Crank-Powered Radios

ARBITRON, INC. has partnered with radio manufacturer ETON CORP. to send 1,000 solar-powered, crank-powered, multi-function radios to Haitian earthquake victims. "Radio is the lifeline keeping Haitians informed and connected during this tragedy," ARBITRON Pres./CEO WILLIAM T. KERR said. "We felt it was important to ensure that they had access to this necessary resource."
"We are happy to join efforts with ARBITRON, INC. to provide some relief to the Haitians during this time," ETON CORP. CEO ESMAIL HOZOUR said. "We hope the tools will bring them the necessary information to help them through this tough time."
"We know that radio is critical for the dissemination of information in times of crisis," KERR added. "Sources have indicated that Haitians are depending on radio for information on where to obtain medical help, food, supplies, and locating missing loved ones."
