MERCURY/NASHVILLE artist JULIANNE HOUGH is among the generous donors for PLANE TO HAITI, an effort to send more than three tons of medical supplies, plus doctors and nurses, to HAITI. Producer DANIEL E. CATULLO, of DC3 MUSIC GROUP, LLC, spearheaded the effort and has rallied members on the music community like CREED, NEWS KIDS ON THE BLACK, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and
GODSMACK and more to donate. Together, they’ve helped the staff of DC3 MUSIC GROUP raise over $1 million in supplies and donations.
An MD-80 aircraft is scheduled to leave LONG BEACH, CA TODAY (1/28) bound for PORT-AU-PRINCE and is scheduled to return from HAITI either FRIDAY (1/29) or SATURDAY (1/30) night. The plane was donated by THE WHEELCHAIR FOUNDATION, who are also handling donation efforts.
CATULLO said: “I couldn’t just sit there watching anymore. So I started calling and e-mailing all of the artists I know and work with and asked for donations and help spreading the word. After five straight 20-hour days, we now have everybody from SCOTT STAPP (of CREED) to NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK to
GODSMACK helping make this happen. I am so grateful to everybody who stepped up and for the overwhelming amount of support we have received so far. I am pleased to announce that our departure to HAITI with all these supplies is imminent."
The PLANE TO HAITI effort will continue with as many return trips as necessary. Check out www.planetohaiti.org for more info or to donate.
