WILLIAM R FRITSCH JR AC KBZQ/LAWTON, OK Station Manager RICK FRITSCH tells ALL ACCESS, "A terrific ice storm claimed two towers in LAWTON, OKLAHOMA, silencing two FM radio stations. The two towers located west of the city became heavily loaded with ice, one guy anchor pulled out of the ground and since the two towers were only 40 feet apart, both toppled after the guy anchor came out."
The two stations affected are KBZQ and PERRY BROADCASTING Urban KJMZ/LAWTON. KBZQ was able to switch to low power from the studio site and remains at low power and will do so until a new tower can be re-built in a new location. KJMZ remains off the air.
