The President's federal budget for fiscal year 2011 proposes funding for the FCC of $352.5 million. That amount includes funding for implementation of the National Broadband Plan, spectrum management, an overhaul of data systems and processes, technological improvements, public safety and cyber-security enforcement, consumer information programs, and international activity.
Salary increases and increased expenses are also covered in the budget.
"With the President’s proposed budget, the FCC can continue its important work of supporting and enhancing the nation’s economic growth by promoting innovation and investment throughout the telecommunications and information technology industries," said FCC Managing Dir. STEVEN VANROEKEL.
