HOWARD STERN's contract year continues with his assertion on the air WEDNESDAY that a TV network approached him to take over someone else's existing TV show. STERN, whose contract expires at the end of 2010, claimed to have "carefully" considered the offer but turned it down.
He did not say whose show or which network were involved, and once again claimed to have been contacted about a possible return to terrestrial radio.
Meanwhile, STERN's present boss, SIRIUS XM RADIO CEO MEL KARMAZIN, told an audience at the PALEY CENTER FOR MEDIA in NEW YORK WEDNESDAY that he wants STERN to remain on Satellite radio, calling STERN "great content ... He's a great talent. Having said that, we would like him to stay with us, and we are optimistic he will continue to do so."
