With HOLY FAMILY RADIO's purchase of Urban WJNZ-A (1140 JAMZ)/GRAND RAPIDS, programmer ROBERT S. WOMACK has moved the format of the station to crosstown Tropical-Regional Mexican daytimer WYGR-A (LA FURIA) as "1530 JAMZ, THE PULSE OF THE CITY."
MICHIGUIDE.COM reports that WYGR's Spanish programming will move to 3p-signoff on weekends, while the station's brokered polka show continues noon-3p SATURDAYS and SUNDAYS, Spanish religions shows remain on the schedule 9-10:30a SUNDAYS, and a Bosnian show continues 10:30a-noon SUNDAYS.
WOMACK challenged the sale of WJNZ in bankruptcy to HOLY FAMILY last year and reached a settlement that allowed him six months to find a new home for the JAMZ programming, which includes TOM JOYNER's syndicated morning show and CITADEL's "THE TOUCH" satellite format.
