Jimmy Wayne Stuck In Little Rock
VALORY MUSIC CO.'s JIMMY WAYNE, who is walking from NASHVILLE to PHOENIX as part of his "Meet Me Halfway" campaign for homeless teens, is now close to the OKLAHOMA border. According to THE TENNESSEAN, WAYNE has experienced knee pain which has slowed his pace, along with snow and ice storms.
WAYNE left NASHVILLE with a 50-pound backpack but since then an RV and car have been donated to the effort. WAYNE is now able to have a dry place to sleep some nights and also he doesn't have to carry his backpack. JOSH LEWIS, who has a degree in sports medicine, is driving the follow car and has helped JIMMY eliminate his knee pain.
WAYNE said: “Every single day someone is stopping to bring food and coffee. In ARKANSAS, the ST. FRANCIS CO-OP was one of the most amazing experiences, they just embraced this thing. One of the farmers said, ‘Let me cook you up some ARKANSAS prime rib.’ I said, ‘That’d be nice.’ Then he started cooking bologna, and I fell over I was laughing so hard.”
Prior to his "Meet Me Halfway Walk" JIMMY had committed to be in KANSAS CITY TONIGHT (2/8) to perform at a ST. JUDE BENEFIT for WILKS BROADCASTING Country KFKF/KANSAS CITY, MO. Mother Nature had a very different plan and JIMMY spent eight hours at the LITTLE ROCK airport, attempting to catch a flight to KANSAS CITY. He even boarded the flight and taxied to the runway but after an hour on the runway, the plane was sent back to the LITTLE ROCK gate.
Barring any further weather related issues, WAYNE will be back on his walk this week.
