CENTURY MEDIA hard rockers LACUNA COIL is one band that is crediting radio with its growing popularity. Airplay for their single "Spellbound" enabled it to spend 20 weeks on the Active Rock charts, gathering over 10,000 spins, and helped sell over 40,000 single downloads.
Radio airplay has also helped fuel the success of its recent tours. For last summer's summer "American Spellbound" tour and the "Harddrive Live Radio Tour" later that fall (in conjunction with the syndicated Harddrive radio program), the band worked closely with stations, doing everything from bowling & go-carting with their fans to in-studio acoustic lunches and acoustic boat cruises.
"We did everything fun on these tours," CENTURY MEDIA Nat. Dir./Rock & Alternative MIKE JAKUBOW said. "The interactive promotions really showcased the band's wild and fun personalities and I think programmers really took to that."
"Harddrive" continues to feature front-woman CRISTINA SCABBIa's weekly advice segment properly named "Ask CRISTINA" on its popular syndicated weekend show to over 115 markets nationally.
The band is set to release a special "Shallow Life: Deluxe Edition" on FEB. 23rd will highlight the relationship they have built with radio. The album features three passionate in-studio acoustic tracks (recorded live-to-air) on Active Rocker WBYR (98.9 THE BEAR)/ FT. WAYNE and from an appearance on TALK RADIO NETWORK's syndicated "MANCOW Show."
