A local host at LEATHERSTOCKING MEDIA Talk WFBL-A (CNY TALK RADIO 1390)/SYRACUSE created a FACEBOOK fan page for the AUSTIN suicide pilot, but FACEBOOK removed the page and issued a warning to the creator of the page.
The SYRACUSE POST-STANDARD reports that JON ALVAREZ created the "JOE 'TAKE MY POUND OF FLESH' STACK Fan Page" hours after STACK flew a plane into an AUSTIN office building, killing himself and one other person and leaving a long, rambling suicide note blaming his troubles on the IRS, capitalism, and the government. ALVAREZ included the note on the "fan page" and got 40 users to join the group before FACEBOOK shut the page FRIDAY morning and issued ALVAREZ a warning that a repeat performance would lead to revocation of his FACEBOOK privileges.
"This guy was making a sacrifice to others who were having problems with the IRS," ALVAREZ told the POST-STANDARD. "We at least owed it to him to make note of his thoughts ... They (news organizations) just want to label him a loon. I’m surprised more people haven’t done something like this. There’s a lot of frustration out there. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg."
