CMA Announces New Hall Of Fame Inductees

The CMA (COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION) announced TODAY (2/23), the newest inductees into the COUNTRY HALL OF FAME. JIMMY DEAN, FERLIN HUSKY, BILLY SHERRILL and DON WILLIAMS will all be inducted into the HALL, as the total membership increases from 108 to 112.
DEAN and HUSKY will be inducted in the "Veterans Era Artist" category. DON WILLIAMS will go in the "Modern Era Artist" category, and producer BILLY SHERRILL will be inducted in the Non-Performer" category, which is awarded every third year in a rotation with the "Recording and/or Touring Musician" and "Songwriter" categories.
"These four gentlemen broadened Country Music immensely with their talents, exposing millions of fans around the world to our format," said Chairman of the CMA Board of Directors STEVE MOORE. "Their contributions to the genre and to popular culture are immeasurable, and we are proud to award them the highest honor in Country Music."
