Coverage Of Quake And Tsunami

Radio news networks went to special coverage of the earthquake in CHILE and the tsunami threat to HAWAII and other areas this weekend.

ABC NEWS RADIO offered live anchored coverage of the tsunami threat on SATURDAY afternoon, with AARON KATERSKY hosting the reports with optional cutaways and joins built into the reports. ABC also added status reports at various times throughout the crisis.

Meanwhile, SALEM RADIO NETWORK used JEFF COELHO's team at SALEM's own Talk KHNR-A/HONOLULU, added to AP coverage, for its tsunami threat coverage, and had cuts from WORLDVISION's STEVE MATTHEWS and his team on the ground in CHILE as well as reaching out to Christian broadcasters in CHILE through COICOM.
