Dick Purtan Radiothon Helps Raise $2.34 Million

WOMC/DETROIT air personality icon DICK PURTAN ended his final SALVATION ARMY RADIOTHON of his radio career with a band, raising a record $2.34 million during 16 hours to benefit Eastern Michigan Division’s BED AND BREAD CLUB, which feeds and shelters the homeless. He beat last year's record of $2.26 million raised last year during the telethon aired on WOMC FM 104.3.
Since it began 23 years ago, the telethon has raised a total of $23.6 million.
