MICHAEL IRVIN has been cleared of accusations that he raped a woman in FLORIDA in JULY 2007, and now the former DALLAS COWBOYS star is considering a lwsuit against ESPN Sports KESN (103.3 ESPN)/DALLAS for firing him on FEBRUARY 5th, shortly after the allegations became public in a civil suit by his accuser, NICOLE ALISA MOSTAFA. The DALLAS MORNING NEWS reports that IRVIN, against whom the BROWARD COUNTY (FL) Sheriff's Office announced last week that it will not pursue criminal charges, still faces the woman's civil suit.
Attorney LARRY FRIEDMAN said, "We're seriously considering a suit against ESPN. They fired MICHAEL IRVIN immediately after Ms. MOSTAFA filed the lawsuit and made public the false allegations that hurt MICHAEL IRVIN and his career."
