ACM Announces Award Week Events In Las Vegas

The ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC has announced events for the week of the 45th Annual ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, which will broadcast from the MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA in LAS VEGAS on APRIL 18th at 8p (ET/PT) on CBS-TV. In addition, the Academy will tape a concert special, “ACM Presents: BROOKS & DUNN – The Last Rodeo” at the same location on APRIL 19th, which will air at a later date on CBS-TV. Artists scheduled to perform include KENNY CHESNEY, REBA, RASCAL FLATTS, CARRIE UNDERWOOD and KEITH URBAN, with more to be announced soon. Other events include the ACM CONCERTS AT FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE, the ACM CHAIRMAN’S RIDE, a special USO performance, ALL-STAR JAM and more.

The ACM CONCERTS AT FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE will feature performances by CAPITOL/NASHVILLE trio LADY ANTEBELLUM on APRIL 16th and COLUMBIA/NASHVILLE artist MIRANDA LAMBERT on APRIL 17th. The concerts are free and open to the public and start at 6:30p (PT). For the 2nd year in a row, winners in each of the newcomer categories “Top New Solo Vocalist,” “Top New Vocal Group” and “Top New Vocal Duo” will have the chance to perform during these concerts. Specific show times, additional performers and stage locations will be announced soon.

The ACM CHAIRMAN’S RIDE will be held again this year to give artists and industry VIPs a scenic ride through the NEVADA landscape on APRIL 17th. The invitation-only event will be hosted by COLUMBIA/NASHVILLE duo MONTGOMERY GENTRY for the 6th time. The event benefits ACM LIFTING LIVES, the Academy’s charitable arm.

For the first time ever, ACM LIFTING LIVES is partnering with the USO to bring a free, private concert to the service men and women of NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE just outside of LAS VEGAS, NV on APRIL 17th. USO tour veterans COLUMBIA/NASHVILLE duo MONTGOMERY GENTRY and SHOW DOG-UNIVERSAL MUSIC artist RANDY HOUSER are scheduled to perform for the crowd. The event will be open to all military ID holders and media credentialed specifically for this event.

The ACM ALL-STAR JAM will take place on APRIL 18th and will feature impromptu performances from the artists who participate in the Awards. Past performers have included BIG & RICH, BROOKS & DUNN, KENNY CHESNEY, KELLY CLARKSON, SARA EVANS, JACK INGRAM, JEWEL, TOBY KEITH, MIRANDA LAMBERT, REBA MCENTIRE, MONTGOMERY GENTRY, JAMES OTTO, BRAD PAISLEY, KELLIE PICKLER, TAYLOR SWIFT, SUGARLAND, CARRIE UNDERWOOD, GRETCHEN WILSON and DWIGHT YOAKAM.
