RCA/Nashville's Norbert Nix Wins Local Charity 5-K Race
March 2, 2010 at 3:29 PM (PT)
Congrats to RCA/NASHVILLE National Dir./Promotion NORBERT NIX, who won a 5-K race (3.1 miles) held in NASHVILLE over the past weekend. The event was sponsored by NORBERT’s ROTC unit at VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY, with proceeds going to the FISHER HOUSE PROJECT, a nonprofit that provides "homes away from home" for military families whose loved ones are receiving medical treatment.
FISHER HOUSE builds and operates homes on the grounds of major military and VETERANS ADMINISTRATION medical centers. They provide no-cost, temporary housing to families, typically within walking distance to the hospital. There are 46 such houses on 18 military installations and 10 VA centers serving the families of 12,000 veterans each year.
NORBERT ran an amazing 5K of 22minutes/46 seconds -- a 7:20 pace -- good enough to easily win his age group and pick up a medal. Send NORB your congrats at Norbert.Nix@sonymusic.com.
