Report: FCC Moving Again On Indecency
March 8, 2010 at 12:35 PM (PT)
The FCC has started moving forward once again to act on indecency complaints, reports BROADCASTING AND CABLE's JOHN EGGERTON, who cites two attorney sources as being aware of at least three new letters of inquiry having been sent out regarding indecency complaints.
The Commission has not acted on indecency complaints for about two years while two high-profile indecency cases, the CBS SUPER BOWL halftime "wardrobe malfunction" incident and the FOX BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS "fleeting expletives" broadcasts, have been under consideration by the courts.
According to the report, one of the letters is in regard to an episode of the syndicated "DR. PHIL" TV show dealing with masturbation.
