Brooks & Dunn To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

ARISTA/NASHVILLE duo BROOKS & DUNN will receive the TONY MARTELL LIFETIME ENTERTAINMENT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD at the T.J. MARTELL FOUNDATION HONORS GALA on MARCH 22nd in NASHVILLE for their humanitarian efforts. The gala will also recognize TENNESSEE Governor PHIL BREDESEN, former TENNESSEE Sen. WILLIAM H. FRIST MD, artist MICHAEL BOLTON and NASHVILLE’s SUSAN SIMONS for their charitable efforts.
The foundation supports cancer research in NASHVILLE through the FRANCES WILLIAMS PRESTON LABORATORIES at the VANBERBILT-INGRAM CANCER CENTER, in honor of FRANCES PRESTON. PRESTON is the national President of the T.J. MARTELL FOUNDATION and a former President and CEO of BMI. Last year’s gala event raised over $400,000 to benefit cancer, leukemia and AIDS research.
Entertainment will include performances by BIG KENNY, DANNY GOKEY, TIM McGRAW, ANITA BAKER , the FISK UNIVERSITY JUBILEE SINGERS and DAVE MASON. Presenters this year will be NASHVILLE Mayor KARL DEAN, ROSS PEROT, JR., PETE COORS and PRESTON. McGRAW will join DEAN in giving the LIFETIME HUMANITARIAN AWARD to BREDESEN. BIG KENNY will and ROSS will present the LIFETIME MEDICAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD to FRIST.
The HONORS GALA will be held at the HUTTON HOTEL and is invitation only. It begins at 6p (CT) and includes a cocktail reception and silent and live auction.
